widow of James Knox Updike, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012. She was an 87 year old native of Montgomery County, daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Hendrix Chester, a former cook, and a member of the Christian faith. She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Chuck) Carrillo, 3 sons, Danny (Sharon) Updike, Earl Ray Updike, and Roger (Connie) Updike, all of Mt. Sterling, 6 grand-children, Christina, Daniel, Jennifer and Macy Updike, Christopher Carrillo and Amanda Tyra, 12 great-grandchildren, Emily, Kendal and Kolten Updike, Peyton Tyra, Madison, Noah and Jakob Carrillo, Caleb and Cameron Marino, Austin Keller, Brittany and Braylon Strange, 2 sisters, Betty Ruth Wade of Nevada and Elsie Crawford of Florida, and 2 brothers, Stanley (Brenda) Chester and Thomas Chester, both of Indiana. Her funeral will be 2:00 Friday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 2:00 Friday
