Lawrence Raymond Magri, 82, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Annie Louise Jacobs Magri. He was born Aug. 18, 1916 in Lynchburg, the son of the late Eugene Leo Magri and Bessie Ryan Magri. He was educated at Holy Cross School and Lynchburg College. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Mediterranean Theater. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 34 years of service as a Postal Supervisor. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of The Holy Name Society. He is survived by one brother, Lt. Col. E.A. Magri, USAF (Ret) and a niece, Kathleen M. Hall both of Moreland, Ga. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Latta B. Terry. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Altavista Rescue Squad or a favorite charity. Whitten Park Avenue Chapel in charge of arrangements.
