Mrs. Margaret McDonald
Mrs. Margaret McDonald passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24 [1940], at the home of her son, Millington L. McDonald, in Owendale. She had been an invalid since suffering a stroke in July, 1925, but retained her active mind and witty humor until the time of her death. Until this week, she enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Margaret Young was born at North Gore, near Ottawa, Canada, April 29, 1850. On Oct. 14, 1874, she was united n marriage with Duncan McDonald, who preceded her in death in January, 1919.
Mrs. McDonald was an ardent and influential worker in the Grant Methodist Church with her musical ability, both vocal and instrumental. She was a great help in Christian work as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by three sons, Wellington J. of Detroit, Alvia A. of Berkley, Calif., and Millington L. of Owendale; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Millie Martin, of Caro; and a brother, Alvia Young, of Belmont, Calif.
Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at two o'clock at the Angus McPhail home in Cass City with Rev. Mr. Mertz of Owendale officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Cemetery.
