Shirley Alice Lovett, of Norfolk, NE., passed away at her home Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Shirley was born on April 19, 1927, in Norfolk, the daughter of Edward Hugh Tibbs and Shirley Irene (Haner) Tibbs.
Shirley was baptized and confirmed on April 9, 1953, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Norfolk, NE.
Shirley attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated in 1945. Shirley worked at Geist Drug Store for a year of more and then worked at the Omaha Cold Storage.
Shirley met Tony Lovett, from Pilger, NE., on a blind date. They were married on October 19, 1947, at Mount Olive Church. They were married for 60 years. From that union, two sons were born.
Shirley is survived by: sons, Terry Lovett, of Norfolk, NE. and Larry Lovett and his companion, Mary Simpson, of Moscow Mills, MO.; grandson, Mark Lovett; sister and brother-in-law, Effie and Norris Hanson, of Wayne, NE. and a host of relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Tony Lovett; grandson, James; two brothers, a sister and twin sisters at birth.
Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk, NE.
