MARTIN, ELLA MAE Our beloved mother, Ella Mae Martin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday the 4th of November, 2012. There to meet her were her husband, Alvin "Sugar" Martin; her parents, Samuel Searcy and Ethel Mae Smith; brothers, James Herbert, Charles Robert, Paul Earl, Bascomb Raymond, and William Walter Smith; and one sister, Florence Elizabeth Lovoy. She leaves behind two daughters, Susan (Wilbur) Conway and Peggy Martin; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Conway; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 12:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel with Rev. Charles Nicholson officiating and burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the great nursing staff and employees of UAB West, ICU, and her surgeons: Dr. Reed, Dr. Mollinger, Dr. Issis, Dr. Postma, Dr. Ebaugh, Dr. Fonbah, and her favorite primary care physician, Dr. Jerry McLane. The family would also like to thank her niece, Mary Sue Lovoy for the time and loving care she gave to her aunt, as well as the family.
