LEBANON, Va. Allie Elizabeth Helton White, age 78, went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Lebanon. Born May 26, 1934, in Russell County a daughter of the late Samuel Worley Helton and the late Allie Carter Helton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant son, Stafford Eugene White; one sister, Mary Jane Helton; and her beloved mother-in-law, Elsie White. Survivors include husband of 56 years, Spencer Bascom White; two daughters, Nancy Anne Scarberry and husband, Vernon and Betty Jean Ferguson and husband, Timothy, all of Lebanon; three sons, Spencer Bascom White Jr. and wife, Ellen, Lemmy Glenn White and wife, Donna and James Worley White and wife, Vernell, all of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Jean Harrison, Greenbrae, Calif. and Sammie Gail Helton, Lebanon; one brother, Henry Lee Helton and wife, Marsha, Hiltons, Va.; Also several nieces and nephews survive A special thanks to Russell County Home Health, the staff of the Russell County Medical Center and the staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in the Combs Funeral Service chapel with her Pastor Jackie Fields and the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in the White family cemetery. Those attending are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin James Hill, Nathan Gene Hill, Wesley Allen White, Caleb Sean Ferguson, Tyler Glenn White, and Mike Keys. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be men of the Church of Jesus Christ. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
