BREWER AND WINTERPORT – Stephen Maynard Cunningham, 64, passed away Nov. 5, 2012, after a long illness at his home in Brewer. He was born May 7, 1948, in Belfast, the son of Merlin D. and Nellie M. (Crooker) Cunningham.

Stephen graduated from Winterport High School. He was a proud Union member of the IBEW 1253 for 37 years as an electrician working at many construction sites and paper mills throughout Maine. He served his country in the Army National Guard for 17 years. Stephen was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 3177, Brewer, for several years. There are many wonderful memories of fishing on Duck Lake as well as fishing in Alaska with Kenny and Susan. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and bee keeping.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Turk and Nellie Cunningham; a sister, Marcia Engstrom; and a brother, Dana Cunningham.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Karen (Gagne) Cunningham of Brewer; children, Amy Smith and husband, David, of Winterport, Corey Cunningham and fiance, Pamela Jordan, of Winterport, Mandy Redman and husband, Jason, of Brewer, Anthony Robles and wife, Pam, of Hermon; grandchildren, Ethan, Amya, Keith and Tyler; siblings, Diana Moore and husband, Gerry, of Frankfort, Skip Cunningham and wife, Sue, of Louisiana, Junior Cunningham and wife, Donna, of Winterport, Ronnie Cunningham and wife, Helena, of Brooks, Jeff Cunningham of Winterport, Andy Cunningham and wife, Karen, of Winterport, Vicki Brown and husband, Roland, of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
