BARRIE - Passed away in Diamond City on Tuesday, September 2lst, 1982, Mr. John Gregg Barrie at the age of 80 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Dorothy Barrie of Diamond City, Alberta.
Born in Scotland, the late Mr. Barrie came to Canada with his family in 1907 to Commerce, Alberta . He worked as a coal miner in Commerce, Shaughnessy and Diamond City and in 1925 started farming in Diamond City until retiring in 1972 and has resided on the farm until his passing.
Besides his loving wife Dorothy, he is survived by one son, XX Barrie of Kimberley . B.C. ; one daughter, Mrs. F. (Edith) XXX of Oshawa, Ontario: two sisters, Miss Janet Barrie of Los Angeles, California , Mrs. Isabel Holmes of Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
