Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Jerome G. Kautzman as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Crown Butte.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2:00-9:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Allan was born on February 18, 1951 to Frank and Emma (Gress) Voigt in Richardton, ND. He is originally from Elbowoods and moved with the family to west of Mandan after the completion of the Garrison Dam. He went to Sweet Briar School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1969. He married Rosalie Helbling on September 26, 1975 in Mandan. A rancher all his life, he owned a ranch near Sweet Briar where he raised cattle, horses and sheep. His greatest enjoyment was training draft and saddle horses and using them for daily ranch chores and gatherings with family and friends. He also sheared sheep for several years.
A lifelong member of St. Vincent's Church in Crown Butte, Allan's faith was evident in the love and pride he showed for his family. Taking great pride in raising his own cattle, he also enjoyed helping friends and neighbors. Always willing to serve his community, Allan was on the Sweet Briar school board for 10 years.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Ann Brown, Marlene Zander and Elaine Hensley and brothers, Leonard Voigt and Charles Voigt.
