Msgr. Peter Nicholas Klauck, 84, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born August 27, 1928, in Kiel, WI, the first of three children born to Raymond and Marie (Schwartz) Klauck. He attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School and Kiel Public High School, graduating in 1946. He attended Marquette University for three years and studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN, obtaining a Bachelor's of Art in Philosophy. On June 4, 1955, he was ordained at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral by Bishop Stanislaus V. Bona.

Father's first appointment was Assistant at St. Luke Parish in Two Rivers (1955). He was appointed to the staff of the Appleton Office of the Diocesan Apostolate (1957) and became Diocesan Director of the Green Bay Apostolate (1963). He was appointed Director of Catholic Charities in 1973, as well as Chaplain for the McCormick Memorial Home for the Aged in Green Bay. In August of 1975, he was raised to the dignity of an Honorary Prelate by Pope Paul VI. Monsignor Klauck then was appointed Pastor of St. Jude Parish, Green Bay (1976); Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish, New Holstein (1987); Priest Moderator of St. Ann Parish, St. Anna (1988); Rector of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish, Green Bay (1992). Monsignor also served on the Diocesan Board of Consultors, as a Pastor Consultor, on the Priest Personnel Board, and on the Presbyteral Council. He retired in June of 1999. He is survived by two brothers and sisters-inlaw, Kenneth and Marion Klauck, Lake Placid, N.Y.; Paul and Marietta Klauck, Sheboygan Falls, WI; two nephews, Stephen (Carol) Klauck, James (Heather) Klauck; two nieces, Micha Klauck and her fiancé, Peter Lewke, Christina Klauck-Langer and her husband, Randy and their children, Holly and Nicholas Langer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Klauck; a niece, Theresa Klauck; two aunts, Clare Schwartz, Rose Neta; three uncles, Tony, Henry and Bill Schwartz.

Reception of the body by Father Richard Getchel, Regional Vicar, will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 139 S. Madison St., Green Bay. Visitation will follow until 8:00 p.m. A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Liturgy.

The Funeral Liturgy, expressing our faith and our hope in the promised glory of the Lord's Resurrection, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay, with Bishop Robert F. Morneau officiating, and Bishop Robert J. Banks concelebrating. Reverend Robert Kabat will be the homilist. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
