A Wellington native, Norris C. Maples, was found dead at his home at Lubbock, Thursday, May 18. His death was attributed to natural causes.
Mr. Maples, 71, was the son of the late Mrs. Ethel Cooley, pioneer Wellington woman. Mr. Maples was born here August 4, 1900. He was a member of Tascosa Baptist Church, Amarillo.
Survivors are 5 sons, Norris C. Maples, Jr., and Sterling A. Maples of Amarillo; Jack Denzil Maples of Detroit, Michigan; Leon Finis Maples of Fresno, Calif.; and Billy V. Maples of Lubbock; three daughters, Mrs. Bob Rigg (Ethel Sue) of Temple, Mrs. Charles Hillier (Theresa Ann) of Canyon, and Mrs. Bruce Boniface (Norma Jean) of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
