In 1802 Mrs. Ann Ratcliff and her children inherited 400 acres on Kings Creek, Brooke Co., VA (now Hancock Co., WV) upon the death of Ann Sanders' brother, Edward Davis Ratcliff. By 1807 Ben & Nancy bought out the property interests of Ann's siblings and moved their family to this unsettled area. It is on this property that you find the Sanders Family Cemetery.
