Bonny Lea Shepherd
June 22, 1937 - November 2, 2012
CRESAPTOWN- Bonny Lea (Lease) Shepherd, 75, of Cresaptown passed away on Friday November 2, 2012 at the WMHS-RMC. Born June 22, 1937 in Cresaptown she was the daughter of the late Vance and Mary Lea (Shuck) Lease.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter Penny Lea (Shepherd) Mourey. Bonny was retired from Gambles Company in Beverly NJ. After living 42 years there, she and her husband returned to Cresaptown and bought the same home where she grew up. She was an active member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church. She loved her family especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her youngest grandchild, Hunter, arrived a week early and she had the opportunity to hold him in her arms, before she passed away. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her husband Paul Shepherd; one son Richard Shepherd and wife Rosemarie, NJ; one daughter Dawn Berold , New Albany IN.; seven grandchildren Steven, Louisville, KY; Michael, Andrew and Ryan of New Albany IN; Megan, Gino and Hunter, NJ; one great-granddaughter, Haylie, Louisville, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) Cresaptown on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Hal Atkins officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
