In loving memory of Mike McNelly, 81, was born at home in Gillingham, Wisconsin April 11, 1926. He was the only child of Mahlon and Nellie (Hocking) McNelly. Mike died at Kavanagh House on Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
After his father's death in 1928, he and his mother moved to Bloomfield, Iowa where Mike attended school. Mike served in WWII and Korea. He retired from the FAA in 1984 after 32 years of service. Mike was a humble and caring man who set an example for his family. He gave and volunteered to such organizations as Homes of Oak Ridge, Hawthorn Hill, Lutheran Brotherhood and Christ Lutheran Church which all benefited from Mike's generosity.
Visitation services will be held Thursday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, at 10 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church on Army Post Road with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mike is preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Kramer). He is survied by his three children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church.
