Funeral services for Virgil V. Adkins, 61, an AVCO
Manufacturing Company employee, were this
afternoon at Avant Funeral Home, Alexandria,
with burial at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Adkins,
of Route 7, Lebanon, died at his home Sunday of
a heart attack. Born June 16, 1916 to William J.
and Martha Pack Adkins, the deceased was a
native Tennessean. Conducting the funeral services
was the Rev. James Owen. Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Corinne Adkins, Lebanon; four sons,
Robert, Mt. Juliet, Homer, Rockford, Ill., Richard
and Paul Adkins, both of Lebanon; one brother,
Cecil Adkins, Smithville; four sisters, Mrs. Vada
Johnson, Mrs. Ova Murphy, Miss Rose Adkins,
all of Lebanon and Mrs. Willie Mae Murphy,
Dowelltown, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
