Lucinda Duncan was born in Cole County, Missouri Feb. 5, 1851, was united in marriage to S.D. Musick Feb. 22, 1871. To this union were born three sons and three daughters. The sons are: Arthur, who lives near Elston; Henry, of near Independence; and walter, of Kansas City, Mo. The daughters are: Mrs. William Proctor and Mrs. Samuel Leslie, of Olean. Hattie died 21 years ago. There are four grandchildren, two boys and two girls. Besides her husband, the children and grandchildren, she leaves also to mourn her departure one brother, John Duncan of Henley, Mo. and one sister, Mrs. Bettie Elliott, of Richland, Mo.
She obeyed the gospel and united with the Christian Church in Olean 24 years ago last October, in which faith she continued until her death, which occurred Jan. 21, 1921 at Olean, Mo. She was esteemed by all who knew her as one of our best and kindest of women, strong in her faith, devoted and loving to her family and kind to all.
Funeral services were held at the family residence in Olean Jan. 22, by Elder W. H. Scott of Eldon, assisted by Rev. Schwartz, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cole County, there to await the Master's call on the morning of that "eternal day."
