Norman Earl Houston passed to his eternal life on July 15, 2007. He was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on May 24, 1922 to Earl H. and Peggy I. Houston and moved to OKC at the age of seven. He graduated from Classen High School in 1940 and Oklahoma A&M in 1949. He is a life member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and the Reserve Officers Association. Norman served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a combat bomber pilot and instructor in WWII and the Korean Conflict. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Natalie Parry and had three children, Jack, Kim and Steve. He worked with his father at Houston & Company Real Estate until 1958, upon which he left to work at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In 1966, Norman retired as a Major in the U.S. Air Force and from the Civil Service at D-HUD in 1972. He was an independent Real Estate Appraiser from 1972-2004. An avid golfer, he served as President of the Oklahoma City Metro Seniors Golf Association for 30 years, formed the Oklahoma City Super Seniors Golf Association and served on numerous charities and committees during his professional career. Wonderful father and mentor to his family, he will be missed greatly. He always had a cheerful smile on his face and never met a stranger, often referred to as 'Stormin' Norman', originating from his great love for OU. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a great-grandson. He is survived by his sons, Jack, Kim and his wife Kimmi, and Steve; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. At his request and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Junior Golf Association through Golf Inc. or to the charity of your choice. The celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel.
