Warren Heuer, 51, of 303 Reinberg Ave., Scottville, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1972, at Memorial Hospital of Mason County.

He was born Dec. 26, 1920 in Pontiac, IL, the son of Louis and Chloe (Powell) Heuer and came to Free Soil with his parents as a child. He married Leona Kubacki on July 3, 1948 in Manistee and had lived in Scottville since then. He served in World War II and received the Purple Heart. He served as field man for the Michigan Milk Producers' Association. Mr. Heuer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer and of its Ushers Club. A square-dancer, he was a member of Boots and Bustles of Manistee and the Roundeliers of Traverse City.

Surviving are his wife, Leona; a son, Wayne, at home; his father, Louis of Free Soil; six sisters, Mrs. Earl (Ilene) Gachwendtner of Pontiac, Ill., Mrs. Robert (Luella) Staley of Dearborn; Mrs. Jack (LaVersa) Kinney of Ann Arbor; Mrs. Clark (Anna Mae) Benham of Fort Worth, TX; Mrs. Stephen (Dorothy) Papes of Free Soil; and Mrs. Neal (Viola) Anderson of Reed City, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.
