ALVIN DAY, 82, a retired teacher and a coal miner, died at 3 a.m. today at County Memorial Hospital after an illness of two weeks. he had been making his home with a daughter and son-in-law, Mrr. & Mrs. Everett Sandel, Newcomerstown Rt.2.
Mr. Day was born Feb. 15, 1879 in Franklin township, a son of John and Amelia Rogers Day.In 1905, he married Elizabeth Hayward, who died in 1913.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Sandel are one son, Baird Day of Canton,six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nora Heiser, Coshocton. Two daughters, one sister and four brothers are deceased.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services at the Franklin Methodist Church will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. Frank Spencer. Burial will be in the Franklin cemetery.
