Elma Mae Carter Barnes, 81, of the 700 block of W. South St., died Dec. 25, 1999, in Guardian Care of Ahoskie.
She was born in Norfolk, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Carter Barnes of Ahoskie and Susan Barnes Stubbs of Memphis, Tenn.; and two aunts, Virginia Carter Bustle of Gatesville, N.C., and Willie Copeland Sessoms of Virginia Beach.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Ahoskie by the Rev. Dr. Jesse J. Croom and the Rev. C.C. Blythe. Burial will be in Ahoskie Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Ahoskie Building Fund. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling arrangements.
