Marcie Clark (Hup) Garner, 80, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 22, 2012. Clark was born October 1, 1932, in Grapps Bluff, Louisiana, to the late Brady Roy and JoAnn Clark Garner. Clark graduated from Rodessa High School in 1952. He attended La. Tech on a football scholarship and was a United States Army veteran, earning the rank of sergeant as a military policeman during the Korean War. Clark retired in 1997, after almost 40 years with BJ Services, where he progressed from trainee to regional manager during his career. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends.

Clark was preceded in death by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Shelby Jean Garner ; and his adoring grandson, Andrew Monroe Garner. He is survived by his loving family: son, Richard Monroe and wife, Catherine; son, Marcie Clark, Jr. and wife, JoAnn; daughter, Judith Lynn Lebel and husband, Bobby; brother, Brady Roy, Jr., and wife, Mary; sister, Margie JoAnn Garner; sister, Hazel Lola Roton; sister-in-law, Marian Wilson; brother-in-law, Johnny Sykes; aunt and dear friend, Waymel Smith; special cousin, Edris Jorgerson; grandchildren: Andy Frederic, Josh, Sean, and Caitlin Garner; "adopted" grandchildren Chris Green and Brad Bivens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Friday, October 26, 2012 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 26, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
