VICKI CHRISTMAN HUGHES-GROVE, 63, of Fort Wayne, passed on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at home with her family surrounding her. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a North Side High School graduate and the Queen of Dunfee Tech from 1966 to current. Her heart was of gold, as she was involved with the Special People's Bowling Tournament as the vice president for over 20 years; a huge asset to HearCare and HearCare Connection; and Retrouvaille as a presenting couple. She was a family service counselor at Covington Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for over 10 years. "She was a loving mother, energetic grandmother, great sister, devoted friend, and never knew a stranger. We will love and remember you always." She is survived by her four loving daughters and the sons-in-law whom she loved very much, Karen (John) Koehlinger, Melissa (Greg) Trahin, Amanda (Joe) Madden, and Christine (Fred) Felger, all of Fort Wayne; mother, Doris Christman of Fort Wayne; brothers, Steven, Craig (Karen) and Larry (Kathi), all of Fort Wayne; sisters, Beverly (Brian) Jardine of Fort Wayne and Libby (Rick) Boerger of Delphos, Ohio; and the twinkles of her eye her nine grandchildren, Jensine, Keaton, Sydnee, Jackson, William, Andrew, Annie, Kylie, and James. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert "Curly" Christman, in 1976; and grandson, Daniel Paul Trahin, in 2008. A celebration of her life is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
