Dec 31, 1944 - Oct 27, 2012 ALAMO, CA Whitney was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Benton and Anne Whittaker. She passed away peacefully in Alamo, CA after a long struggle with cancer. She is survived by her son, Chris O'Neill, of Murrieta, CA; and daughter, Sarah Mowry, of Sacramento, CA; two sisters: Sharon Bumgardner, of Piedmont, OK; and Cassey Combs, of Memphis TN; two brothers: David Whittaker, of Palm Springs, CA; and Bill Thomas, of Edmond, OK; and five grandchildren, LaJuane, Tiara, Toni, Aliyah and Elise. Whitney had a passion for her grandchildren, who were the love of her life. She was accomplished in art, antiques and decorating. She devoted herself to helping others in AA. She enjoyed living in California near her children and grandchildren for many years but was always proud of being an "Okie" from her native Oklahoma. Whitney was a beautiful woman, whose passing will leave a hole in the hearts of many. Services to celebrate her life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 7th at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
