KUCHERAN - Death came mercifully in the early hours of December 5th, 1979, taking the "Sax Man" from our midst.

Nicholas Kucheran passed away suddenly at Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary.

He is survived by his devoted wife Helen and mother Marie Romaniuk both of Lethbridge and his sons, XXX of Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., XXX of Toronto, Ontario, and XXX of Burnaby, B.C.

Nick's family who were recovering from the death of his sister Helen Weir in July of this year must once again steel themselves to an additional sorrow. They are brother John Kucheran of Calgary, and sisters Oxana Bigelow of Burnaby, B.C., Gladys Boyd of Toronto, Ontario, and step-sisters Marie Barko and Mildred Turbis, also of Toronto. His 3 grandchildren will remain forever richer by knowing and loving their grandpa.

Born on the 28th of November, 1919 in Hardieville, Nick lived and worked all his life in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.

Nick was an active member of the Elks Club and 702 Wing RCAFA. He was employed by Vulcan Machinery and Equipments Ltd. who have been extremely kind to his wife and family in their need. A native son in the truest sense. Nick is perhaps best remembered as the leader of the BIG BAND, a group of talented and dedicated musicians who thrive on the music of the big band era. Music was the core of his soul and through his music he expressed his love of life and of the people around him. All who have known and loved Nick grieve his loss, yet take comfort in knowing that his music will live on.
