Viola Joyce Burkett, age 81, of Gatlinburg, TN., went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2003.
She was a member of Oldhams Creek Baptist Church.Viola was preceded in death by her parents, George and Arminda Huskey Bohanan; children, Roy Burkett, Betty Burkett and Harley Burkett; brothers, Orville Bohanan and Lonnie Bohanan; sister, Mamie Ogle.
Viola is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Verless Burkett; children, Robert Burkett and wife, Irene of Gatlinburg, TN., Pauline Ogle and husband, Thomas of Kodak, TN., Mary Loveday and husband, Glenn of Sevierville, TN., Martha Hurst and husband, Gary of Sevierville, TN., Helen Blalock and husband, Dwight of Sevierville, TN., Lillie Whaley and husband, James of Maryville, TN., David Burkett and wife, Teresa of Gatlinburg, TN., Earnie Burkett and wife, Susan of Sevierville, TN., Ray Burkett and wife, Joyce of Gatlinburg, TN., John Burkett and wife Jamie of Gatlinburg, TN., Blanch Teague of Gatlinburg, TN., Della Hodges and husband, Lee of Kodak, TN., James Burkett of Gatlinburg, TN.; brothers ; Harold Ownby and wife, Laura of Gatlinburg, TN.; sisters, Ruth Maples of Knoxville, TN., Pauline Cardwell of FL. Mrs. Burkett will be greatly missed by numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great, Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 13, 2003 in Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dee Wilson and Rev. Jerry Colbert officiating. Interment will follow the service in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens in Pigeon Forge.
