Roby Bowman Hinkle, 79, of Greeneville, died Monday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

Mrs. Hinkle was a housewife and the widow of James "Jim" Alfred Hinkle Sr.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she attended as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: James Alfred Hinkle Jr., and his wife, Virginia Hinkle, of Limestone; five granddaughters and three special grandsons-in-law: Anita Jean Hinkle and Ruth and L. Shane Harrison, all of Greeneville, Jamie and Chuck Rose of the Sunnyside community, Melissa and Guy Tweed of Mosheim, and Teresa and Shawn Broyles of Limestone; five great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a brother and sister-in-law: Bud and Tokea Bowman of the Camp Creek community; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Ina Cutshall and Mary Miller, both of Greeneville, and Nellie and Bill Parman of Dayton, Ohio; and special friends: Troy "Jabo" Fannon, Frank Wykle, and Shane Starnes.

She was a daughter of the late Fox and Grace Lawing Bowman and was preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde Bowman, Claude Bowman, and Guy Bowman.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Jeffers Mortuary.

The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in the mortuary chapel with interment in River Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Wayland Fillers and Gordon Miller will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bowman, Stanley Bowman, Chuck Rose, Guy Tweed, Scotty Tarlton, Shawn Broyles, Kirk Bowman, Greg Bowman, Charles Broyles, Mike Bowman, Keith Bowman, and Guy "Cotton" Broyles
