Myrtle May Berglund of Redding passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 6, 2012. She was born in Wyoming, Minn. on Aug. 28, 1915.
Myrtle May Rhea married Paul Berglund on Aug. 2, 1933. They had five children, Richard Berglund, Rhea Backstrom, Marion Purcell, Henry Berglund and William Berglund.
Paul and Myrtle served the Lord through missionary work for many years. Myrtle enjoyed her later years with many pinochle games with family. Grandma was always up for another game of cards.
Preceding her in death were her husband Paul Berglund, her son Richard Berglund, her grandson Kenneth Alpheus and her great-grandson Gabreal Beeler.
Myrtle is survived by four children, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Mom to some, Grandma to more, Great-grandma to many, Great-great-grandma to the little ones and a friend to all.
Grandma left these loving words in her will: "Trust in the Lord and I will see you in Heaven."
Myrtle will be laid to rest in the Happy Camp Cemetery next to her husband Paul. Services will be held at the Happy Camp Bible Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. A pot luck will follow.
