Jim was the son of Daniel and Mary Switzer. He married Helen Drope in 1912 and had three kids. Jim Switzer worked was an electrician for Loomis Electric Co. before he and his brother Leo opened a candy shop on Astor Ave. called Switzer Bros. After His wife Helen's death in 1961, he moved to Oklahoma to live with his oldest daughter Dottie Schofield. He married Ann Switzer in Oklahoma. He died in Oklahoma but was buried in Akron.
