Russian sculptor, son of C. Pimenov. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1824-1833. In two years of study he received a silver medal for the second dignity drawing from life, and after three years - the highest possible awards - the first silver medal for merits sculpting from life. In 1837, he received a gold medal, was sent at public expense abroad. In the same year, visiting several cities in Germany, he went to Italy. In Rome and in Florence, he studied classical art, many engaged in modeling from life. Here he became acquainted with the activities of a number of contemporary artists. In 1842 Pimenov creates statue "Boy, begging." The article noted, and who lived at that time in Rome the artist Alexander Ivanov. In 1844 for this work Pimenov awarded the title of Academician. In autumn 1850 Pimenov returned home. In St. Petersburg, he worked on sculptures "Resurrection" and "The Transfiguration." Ebb of bronze, they were placed in Attica small iconostasis in St. Isaac's Cathedral. For the performance of these compositions, he received in 1854, the title of professor. Soon he was appointed to the position of tenured professor of sculpture Academy. He taught at the Art Academy in 1856-1864.
