Fort Atkinson- Sophia L. Koch, 96, formerly of Rock River Manor, Fort Atkinson died Sunday evening at Fort Atkinson Health Care Center following a lingering illness.
A private family Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson with the Rev Alfred P Endres officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There is no visitation.
The former Sophia Gruennert was born 9 December 1989 in Farmington, daughter of Charles and Emma Gruennert. She married Christian Koch of Oakland, 14 October 1908 in Oakland. He preceded her in death 2 March 1958. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of St Joseph's Catholics Church.
Survivors include one son, James of Fort Atkinson, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and one half sister, Mrs John Linde of Fort Atkinson. She was further preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister.
