DR. F. V. JORDAN OF OAK RIDGE DIED AT MISSISSIPPI HOSPITAL

RAYVILLE, Nov. 27 - Dr. F. V. Jordan, aged 44 years, physician and prominent citizen of Oak Ridge, died at a Vicksburg sanitarium following an operation on last Wednesday. The remains were brought through here Thursday evening en route to Oak Ridge, where the funeral was held Friday and burial in the Episcopal cemetery of that town. Dr. Jordan is survived by his wife, who was Miss Jennie Hampton, of Oak Ridge before her marriage; two sons and two daughters, his mother, Mrs. F. E. Jordan; and a brother, Dr. Harrison Jordan, of Rayville.

Dr. Jordan was born in Trio plantation, 5 miles north of Rayville, and was reared to young manhood there. He was educated at the University of the South, Sewanne, Tennessee, and after graduating in medicine, removed to Oak Ridge, where he has practiced his profession ever since. Dr. Jordan was also interested in planting. He was one of Oak Ridge's foremost citizens, and his death is universally deplored in that town and community. His old time friends in Richland were shocked and grieved to learn of his death. While he was known to have been a sick man for several months, it was not thought ihis illness was of such a serious nature, and death was not expected as a probability.
