Edwin F. Jones, Succumbs at Home...
EDWIN F. JONES, 45, life-long resident of this community, died at 3 a.m. Thursday (December 1959) in his home, 1109 E. Hatch Street from conditions due to a heart attack suffered October 15, 1957.
An employee of the Kirsch Co., for 18 years, Mr. Jones had previously been a die-setter for this concern until his illness began. He then became an inspector at the Kirsch plant.
He was born in Sturgis on July 10, 1914, a son of Clarence and Emma (Weiderman) Jones. His marriage to Marie H. Janke was solemnized on January 21, 1939 in Angola, Indiana. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Surviving besides the wife are three children all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Thais) Emmerick of Kendallville, Indiana, Mrs. Samuel (Mary Ella) Waters of near Sturgis; his uncle, John Weiderman of Sturgis and a number of cousins. Another sister, Mrs. Everett Felter had preceded him in death last October 29th.
Friends may call at the Foglesong Funeral Home until noon Saturday. Following that hour the body will be in state at the St. John's Lutheran Church where last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Herbert Walther will officiate. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
