Mrs. L. Pietenpol passed away Monday night, June 10, at the home of her children, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Reekers, at the age of 68 years.

She was born in Akrum, Netherlands, where she married Mr. E. De Vries. This marriage was blessed with four children, of whom three are living, Mrs. Garrit Ter Horst of Orange City, P.E. De Vries of Sioux Center, H.E. De Vries of Hull.

In 1888 the family came to the United States and the same year Mr. De Vries died.

The next year the widow married Mr. Pietenpol. Three children were born to them of whom one is living yet, Mrs. A.J. Reekers of Orange city. The family lived for many years on a farm northwest of Orange City.

The deceased suffered for a long time of cancer. Last year, May, she underwent as operation at Rochester, Minn., and in November she was again operated on at Le Mars. During the last month a trained nurse took care of the sick lady till the time of her death.

The funeral took place on Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Engelsman officiating.
