Unconfirmed veteran. Only record found was for a S D O'Neal representing a court marshal. Thsi O'Neal was in Company E 6th SC Infantry. He is buried at Antioch Cemetery in Darlington County, SC.

Samuel was the last member of Major Coker's regiment of the Confederate army, he participated in the Battle of Gettysburg and Seven Pines and was Appomattox on the day of surrender.
