Arlene H. "Sis" Chamberlain, 85, of Stevensville, Montana, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012, at home, surrounded by family. She was born in Missoula, Montana, on August 9, 1927, to Arthur and Hulda Houtchens. Arlene graduated from Missoula County High School and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and Honor Society.

She married Thomas Chamberlain in 1946. She enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, sewing, canning, cooking and baking for the 10 children she raised.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom; son Jay; daughter Gail and four brothers. Survivors include her children, Tommy Lou Sherrer (Mike), Sharon Grenfell (Robert), Shaun Chamberlain, Merri Clapham (Marlon), Lori Defratus (Ron), Janette McAdams (Shaun), Erin Chamberlain (Dorothy) and Elizabeth Jones; brothers, Duane, George and Donald Houtchens; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 7 at the Missoula Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
