Vurlest Tuck Watlington, age 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 19, 2011 at Piney Forest Health and Rehab Center. She was born on September 9, 1922 in Christie, Va, daughter of Howard Tuck and Flora Apt Tuck and was the last survivor of her generation. She had lived most of her life in Danville where she was employed by Dan River Mills in the Spinning Room for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was married to Walter "Herb" Watlington, who predeceased her on June 9, 1990. She is survived by a son, Richard "Rick" H. Watlington and wife, Mary Lou; one grandson, William "Will" H. Watlington. She was predeceased by five sisters, Murlest T. Jones (twin sister), Gladys Tuck, Margaret "Lizzie" T. Fox, Ada T. Jackson, Mary T. White, five brothers, Paul Tuck, Alec Tuck, Robert "Bob" Tuck, Walter Tuck and Henry Tuck.
Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
