Henry F. Crawley

Henry F. Crawley, a well known barber of Bedford, died of stomach trouble at his home on West John St., Sunday, April 15.

He was born at Bedford, June 6th 1845, and was the son of Sarah and Joseph Crawley, deceased. On January 10, 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret J Evans of Pittsburgh, Pa., who survives with the following children: Mrs. Ida Ukkerd, William F. and Frank A. Crawley, at home; Christopher P., of Stubinsville, Ohio; and Mrs. Joe Brown, of Scottdale, Pa. A son Henry A. Crawley, preceded his father to the grave.

The following sisters also survive: Miss Mary Long, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. H.G. Thomas of Waynesburg, Pa; and Mrs John Rouse, of Bedford, Pa.

Mr. Crawley started in the barber business, when he was eighteen years old and was engaged in it for fifty four years, being Bedford's oldest barber.

He was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father and will be missed by all who knew him.

The funeral services were held at his late home, Tuesday, April 17, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Wynn of the A.M.E. Zion Church.

Interment was made in Mt. Rose? (Ross) cemetery.
