Terrence Robert Baalman, age 76, of Grinnell, KS passed away on Oct. 21, 2012 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Lakewood, CO. Terry was born on Sept. 18, 1936 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.

He was adopted by Ben and Frances Baalman in June of 1939. He attended school in Angelus, KS where he graduated from the 8th grade, He joined the US Army in Nov. of 1954 and served in Germany until Jan. of 1956 when he was discharged to come home and take of the family farm.

Terry married Angeline "Angie" Robben on Aug. 4, 1958 in Angelus. They lived on a farm two miles north of Grinnell until they retired and moved into Grinnell in June of 2000.

Terry is a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and Wheatland VFW Post #2864 of Grinnell. He served on the S&T Telephone Board for 38 years and also served on the Tri-County Credit Union Board. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Terry was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, two son-in-laws, and two grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Angie; daughters Mercedes Shoemaker and Maureen Bryand; two grandchildren; and a sister Kathleen Zerr.

Terry was "one of a kind guy" who will be dearly missed by many of his friends and family. Special thanks goes out to everyone for all the cards, calls, and prayers while Terry was in the hospital. Your love and kindness will always be remembered.

Funeral Mass was Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell with burial in the church cemetery.
