Lawrence Dorwin Baker, 84, of New Albany, passed away October 29, 2012.

He was a member of the New Albany Lions Club for over 50 years serving in various capacities.

Lawrence retired from the Defense Supply Center (DSCC) after 25 years service.

He was also a farmer and at one time farmed more than 300 acres in the Franklin County area.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Joan Baker; two daughters, Maribeth (Gail) Jordan and Margie Lawson (Jimmy Baldrick); three grandchildren, Phillip Kost (Alisha Homer), Carla and Patrick Lawson; brother, Harold (Betty) Baker; sister-in-law, Linda Baker; two step-grandchildren, Chrissy (John) Danflous and Nikki (Todd) Tuller and three step-great-grandchldren, Jordan and Dean Danflous and Abbi Tuller. He is also survived by former sons-in-law, Drew Kost and Tom Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence is preceded in death by sisters Jessie (John) Vince and Freida Eberhardt, brothers Charles (Dorothy) Eberhardt, Oliver (Katie) Baker, Jack (Edna) Baker and Art Baker and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the MICU and Palliative/Hospice staff at Mt. Carmel Hospital East for their very compassionate care.

Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, 2-5 p.m. Sunday, where service will be held 10 a.m. Monday November 5, 2012.

Interment Maplewood Cemetery, New Albany.
