Leonard Melvin Nicolay, 94, Topeka, passed away Wed., May 9, 2012.

Leonard was born Aug. 17, 1917 in Lyndon, the son of Alma and Olive Markley Nicolay.

He was a roofing contractor in Topeka since 1935. In 1945, he and Alla Ella Ferris were united in marriage. She survives. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Other survivors include his children, Russell Nicolay, Leonard Melvin Nicolay, Jr., Neva Ozment, Gail Albright, Dixie Gaines, Dan Ogden and Leonard Dean L.D. Nicolay; grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Oddlene Gordinier, Betty Spinelli and Melba Goodwin; and nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sun. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Mon, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1611 SW Jewell. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Lyndon KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the L.D.S. Church for the Missionary Fund.
