Joseph A. Thompson, 87, died Tuesday morning in St. John's Hospital where he had been a patient three days. He was a retired farmer of the Clever community. Mr. Thompson is survived by five sons, Leonard, Mt. Vernon, Glenn, Billings, Ray, Ash Grove, Noel, Route 1, Republic, and Harold, Republic; three daughters, Mrs. Lennie Davis, Clever, Mrs. Opal Bryan, Springfield, and Mrs. Voutress Chapman, Arlington, Tex.; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today in Cantrell Chapel at Clever. The Rev. Wayne Jones officiated and burial was in Wise Hill Cemetery
