William "Bill" Carl Rickett, 74, born and raised Montrose, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, in Waco, Texas where he lived.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Carl Rickett; and mother, Elizabeth Applehanz Rickett.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hope; his first wife, Frances English NcNair, also a former resident of Montrose; their daughter Deborah Kay; grandson, U.S. Army Sgt. Fredrick Carl Mathis, his wife Natashia and granddaughter Teresa Marie; three great-grandchildren, Nikoli, Modesty and Abigail Mathis; sisters, Carol Coats of Colorado Springs, and Anne Marie Anderson of Waco, Texas; half sisters, Jeanine and Fredricka of California; and many cousins.

His body was cremated, and the memorial service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at the Riding High Cowboy Church in Waco. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the church at P.O. Box 565, Waco, TX.
