GULFPORT --- Tommy "Paw Paw" Kimbell, 60, of Gulfport, died Thursday, December 27, 2001, in Gulfport.

Mr. Kimbell was born August 9, 1941 in Union, MS. and was a lifelong resident of Gulfport.

He received his education from Gulfport High School, Perkinston Jr. College, and the University of Southern MS. He was employed as Human Resources Manager for various metal fabricating companies on the Industrial Seaway in Gulfport. He was a veteran of the US Navy and an active member of Bayou View Baptist Church. Mr. Kimbell was a past member of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, he served on the Private Industry Council and worked with The United Way and E. Harrison County Heart Fund. He was a supporter of the American Red Cross and lifelong blood donor.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Guy Kimbell and his father W. L. Kimbell.

Survivors include his mother Frances L. Smith of Hattiesburg, MS. His daughter, Julie K. Hill; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Mariano Barvie', all of Gulfport. His granddaughters, Jillian and Kelsie Hill. His brother Fred Kimbell of Las Vegas, NV. Three sisters, Fran Carlstead of Hattiesburg, Linda Williams of Biloxi, and Becky Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV., and long-term companion and caregiver, Emma Roberds of Long Beach.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 8 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Bayou View Baptist Church in Gulfport where friends may call 30 minutes before the service.

Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens.
