Evone Wiggs Jackson, 55, died Sunday, December 20, 1998, following a short illness.
She was a native of Palatka and spent most of her life here. For the past three years she resided in Rochester, N.Y., where most of her children lived and returned home only two months ago. She expressed how happy she was to be back home in Palatka. She had recently moved into the high-rise. She started attending church services at To God Be The Glory Holiness Church.
Her father, Charlie Wiggs Sr. and four of her brothers, Charlie Jr., Smiley, David and Freddie Lee Wiggs preceded her in death.
To cherish her memories are her mother, Adell Williams of Palatka; husband, Willie Louis Jackson Sr. of Palatka; sons and daughters, Willie L. Jackson Jr. of Lake City, Johnny Lee Jackson, Beverly (Steve) Brown, Doretha Jackson, Willie Mae Bridges, and Tammy Jackson, all of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters and brothers, Willmener Wiggs of Rochester, N.Y., Christean (Elder Johnny) Bunch of Palatka, Loretha (Anthony) Miller of Palatka, Gloria (Donnell) Boyd of Pompano Beach, Pastor Joe Louis (Evanell) Wiggs of Sarasota, Clifford Wiffs of Palaka; 13 grandchildren; aunt, Lucy Hariett Walker of Miami; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at To God Be The Glory Holiness Church in Palatka with Dr. Ruth Lowe-Reaves, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
