William Harrison was the the third born child of five and first son of two born to William Storrs and Phoebe Margot Brazille- Abbernacki.

He enlisted inn the United Sates Army on 13 March 1918 and was honorably discharged on 28 May 1919. He served in California in Company M, 63 Infantry, 11th Division in World War I.

In his adult life he was a California Gold Miner and an active veteran of World War I.
