Alfred C. (Bud) Atkins, 75, died late Friday in a local hospital after an illness of several weeks. He was a native of Aurora, Ill., and had been a resident of Jacksonville for the past seventeen years, coming here from Atlanta. He was a member and past senior warden of the San Jose Episcopal Church, Duval Lodge 159 F&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Morocco Temple of the Shrine, the Elks Lodge, World War I Veterans, Post 88 of the American Legion, also the Quarter Century Club of the Lyon Metal Products Inc. of Aurora, Ill., and the San Jose Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Atkins; two sons, Dr. J. Thomas Atkins and David R. Atkins; one sister, Mrs. May Hicks of Berwyn, Ill., eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday in the Robert M. Naugle Chapel, the Rev. Robert G. Preston officiating. Honoray pallbearers will be Peter Swalick, F.O. Blehn, Cass Wilson, Jesse Smallwood, and Dr. Nathanial Jones. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. [Times Union, Jacksonville, FL]
