Mr. Blair was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Harry and Edith (Morrison) Blair. He grew up in Minneapolis and later the family moved to Libby, Mont., in 1938.
He worked in the logging industry and in 1945 joined the armed forces during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1948 from the paratroopers division. In 1949 he met Etta Mae Garren and they were married in 1950 in Butte, Mont. In 1963 the family moved to Milton-Freewater, where he again worked in the logging Industry; later, as the family grew, he worked at Boise Cascade until his retirement in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Blair of Walla Walla; children Donald Leonard Blair Jr. of Portland, Harry "Hal" Burton Blair of Phoenix, Ariz., Beth Schlatter of Spokane, Wash., Ronald Lee Blair of Milton-Freewater, Patricia Lynch of Walla Walla and Tamara Eiffert of Gresham; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fred Blair and sister Betty Kinports.
