He was born January 23, 1928 in Pattonsburg, Missouri to Robert and Opal (Bozarth) Brown.
Charles married Mary Frances Anderson on May 3, 1952. In World War II he participated in atomic bomb test, Bikini Atoll, and was present at WWII surrender upon USS Missouri, Joint Intelligence.
Mr. Brown worked as a fur cutter for 23 years and later for Einbender's department store, where he retired after 15 years.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Robert Brown; sister, Rozella Bidol; and sister, Judy Hockaday.
Survivors: his son, Ricky Brown (Kathie); daughter, Sherry Musick, all of St. Joseph, Missouri; step-son, Mike Lyon (Carolyn), Dearborn, Missouri; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law Johnie Dudley, Canton, Oklahoma.
Graveside Services and Interment: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. on Friday. The family suggests memorial gifts to Missouri Veterans Home, 1111 Euclid Avenue, Cameron, Missouri 64429.
