HARTMANN, RUDOLF, born Sep. 19, 1929, in Hannover-Muenden, Germany. Passed away Oct. 8, 2009, in Orlando, FL, due to complications from Parkinson's Disease. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 and became a United States citizen in 1962. He was manager of the Optical Department for Bell & Howell, Chicago, for 21 years before moving to Florida in 1978. He worked for Martin Marietta as manager of the Optical/Electronics Department until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of various optical societies, and a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE). He is survived by his loving wife Ingrid, family and friends.
