Mrs.Kay Allen, 37, 1304 41st Ave., Crestview Road, Sterling died Wednesday at Methodist Hospital, Rochester Minnesota, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning with a prayer service at 10:30 AM at the Allen funeral home, Sterling, followed by the mass of Christian burial 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. William Schwartz, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted Friday evening at 7:45 PM. A memorial has been established in her memory.Kay Allen was born on February 6, 1947 in Sterling Illinois, the daughter of Carlton and Ruth Friesen Fisher. She was United in marriage to Dr. James E Allen on July 26, 1969 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sterling. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1965 and the University of Illinois with a bachelor of arts degree in music education in 1969. She was the church organist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church prior to her illness. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sterling, also a member of the American Association University Women, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority of the University of Illinois, and a former board member of the YWCA. Surviving are her husband one daughter and two sons. Also surviving are two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents.
